Opisto oli 2016-18 mukana EU-rahoitteisessa Erasmus+ – hankkeessa nimeltään *Walk’n’TalkPrevention and Communication Training for the Elderly aged 65+.

Palautetta opiskelijoilta:

Tuki tällaiselle toiminnalle kurssin järjestämällä on lisännyt arvostusta Sastamalan opistoa kohtaan. –  Heikki, mies, s. 1952  –

Kaikki meni kuitenkin hienosti. Tuntui siltä, että he ymmärsivät kaiken.

–  Tuula, nainen, s. 1947

KA2 Walk’n’Talk

With this Walk’n’TalkPrevention and Communication Training for the Elderly aged 65+ project, we intend to foster active and healthy aging by encouraging the elderly in taking part in a Walk’n’Talk activity, which means they will acquire healthy habits outside in the inspiring nature and/or their neighborhood – depending on their possibilities and areas they live – and at the same time talk and learn something new in a non-formal learning setting. In this project the consortium wishes to address people 65+ in order to enhance their participation in lifelong learning, improve their life quality and social participation and inclusion.

Feedback from Learners:

On a personal level, I feel that I have gained courage to explore new ways of expression. It has been a source of joy and inspiration for me. I feel that I have a whole new outlook on life and it is easier for me to communicate with others. I now have stronger faith in my capability of learning new skills and evolving as a person even in my later years. Ideally, this kind of group will have a wider influence not only on our families but maybe even on the cultural life of our locality. I`m highly appreciative of Sastamala Community College for offering this kind of course. – Heikki, male, born 1952 –

Luckily all went well. Group bonding started already during our second meeting when everyone was present. I noticed that chatting over coffee felt very natural. Many topics were discussed, but not our educational backgrounds or our professional lives. We had a very special team spirit. On our last day we were almost overwhelmed by emotion. We were happy to receive friendly visitors from other countries participating in this project. In our performance on the Kannari theatre stage, we felt that they really lived and breathed the moment with us and understood everything. –  Maire, female, born 1947 – Peer tutor

Our competent instructor helped us to create a great team spirit. A proof of this is that everyone from the previous course enrolled in our weekend course. Inkeri, 90 years, says she doesn`t feel quite up to it.  But even she told us that this has been one of the most wonderful experiences of her whole life. I’m already waiting for the next course and wish to thank you! –  Tuula, female, born 1947 –
